炎熱夏天來囉！能夠消暑的水果，以西瓜最為人所稱道，西瓜可以止渴利尿，夏天裡切一盆西瓜，馬上會被吃光光，西瓜汁更是讓人通體透清涼；夏天吃西瓜可消暑，但是也不能吃多，尤其是糖尿病、腎臟病患者，都得要適量。

**西瓜九成都是水份**

周千欽, 台北市立聯合醫院林森中醫院區營養科營養師表示，西瓜是糖份高和水份高的水果，西瓜大約有九成都是水份，也使得夏天吃西瓜會感到清涼；至於營養成分也很多，包括有維生素A與B群，葡萄糖與果糖，也有胡蘿蔔素與茄紅素，可以增加身體抗氧化。

**糖尿病及腎臟病一天250克為限**

哪些人吃西瓜要節制？周千欽營養師指出，一般人每人每天最好只吃兩份水果，以免果糖攝取過多，西瓜也不例外，吃西瓜也要注意份量，以西瓜去皮切塊，一份為250克，大約就是一飯碗的量為宜；至於糖尿病人及腎臟病人，要限糖限水，吃西瓜份量就要節制，一天一份即可。

**月經期不適宜吃西瓜**

中醫認為，西瓜是寒涼性水果，對於偏寒體質者也要少吃。周千欽營養師說，尤其是月經期間的女性，手腳冰冷，就不適宜吃西瓜；俗話說，暗頭仔食西瓜，半瞑反症，吃西瓜最好是白天的時候吃，晚上就不宜吃。
