#  碘攝取不足 容易有這些疾病

缺碘會引起甲狀腺腫大、甲亢症，而孕婦缺碘更可能造成流產、畸形。不過，碘也不可以亂補充。醫師提醒，老年人應避免短期內大量補充碘，以免造成甲狀腺功能異常，甚至心血管併發症；而甲狀腺疾病患者需諮詢醫師再補充。

#### 碘是人體必要元素

台北市立聯合醫院陽明院區新陳代謝科主治醫師王繁棻，在2016年臺灣醫學週系列演講中指出，碘是製造甲狀腺素的必要元素，碘不足在人生的每個階段都會造成影響，世界衛生組織及聯合國兒童基金會建議，全面食鹽加碘作為消除碘營養缺乏疾病的主要對策。

#### 每日碘建議攝取量100微克

目前國際上最常用來評估碘營養指標是尿碘中位數。王繁棻醫師表示，成人每天應攝取100微克的碘，尿碘中位數在100至199微克為碘營養適當，50至99微克為輕度碘不足，20至49微克為中度碘不足，小於20微克為嚴重碘不足；200至299微克為超過碘需求，300微克以上為碘過量。

#### 碘不足恐有甲狀腺疾病

王繁棻醫師舉例，懷孕時若碘不足，可能造成流產、畸胎；新生兒時期碘不足，可能造成甲狀腺功能低下、智能不足；在兒童與青少年時期碘不足，可能導致甲狀腺腫大、甲狀腺功能低下、影響生長發育與智能發展，以及甲亢症；成人時期碘不足，可造成甲狀腺腫大、甲狀腺功能低下、影響心智功能。
