立冬過後，天氣開始變冷，許多民眾投入進補的行列，中醫師陳彥仁表示， 所謂＂春生，夏長，秋收，冬藏＂，春夏是生長發育的季節，秋冬則是精氣內蘊因冬季精氣內藏於體內，所以冬季是滋補養生的最佳時機。

在選擇食療及藥膳時，必先了解自己的體質，找出體質屬性，對症下食，才能達到保健養生之功效。 感冒應避免進補 消化不良者應先顧脾胃 陳彥仁主任指出，有感冒或明顯發炎症狀的患者避免進補，另外腸胃功能衰弱或容易消化不良的人，應該先養護脾胃再進行。

本身有脾胃疾病（如胃潰瘍、十二指腸潰瘍、大腸激躁症）的民眾，若食補湯汁中含酒精成分，就容易刺激潰瘍造成出血，加上肉類及補劑較膩滯不易消化，以及酒與肥肉的油脂，會引起血脂肪上升。 心血管疾病忌溫補 罹癌病患忌吃紅肉 罹患心血管疾病的民眾（如心臟病、高血壓、動脈硬化），最忌溫補（如十全大補、麻油雞)，該以平補或涼補為主。而有腎臟疾病的患者，因為食用雞、鴨、豬、羊、魚等肉類時，會使血中肌酸酐、尿素氮上升，所以食用時以一塊肉的份量即可；另外因為進補湯汁含有高濃度普林、鉀離子與磷離子，易造成水份的囤積，所以不建議喝湯，適合平補或涼補為主。

罹癌病患，忌吃紅肉、脂肪類食物，以一塊巴掌大的肉的份量為宜；另外癌症初期的患者，禁食補氣補血藥（黃耆、當歸、人參），最好的抗癌食材為紅色蔬果與菇菌類。罹患婦科病（如子宮肌瘤、巧克力囊腫、乳癌）的民眾，禁忌食用四物湯類。陳彥仁主任呼籲，俗語說「藥補不如食補，食補卻不如運動補」。除了適度的食補及藥膳之外，良好飲食習慣，及搭配適度的運動也非常重要。
